Why do retail stores and outlets do this? They want to keep prospective buyers from going else where to buy floor coverings.

This does'nt make sense to me! It should make perfect sense. They dont want you visting their outlet or retail store to just try the product then go else where and buy the carpet. So they think this makes it more difficult for you to go else where and buy the same product.
